The Las Vegas Raiders recently bolstered their offensive line by signing former Chicago Bear interior lineman, Cody Whitehair.

Whitehair, a former Pro Bowler (2018), spent his entire eight-year career with the Bears after being drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He also has experience playing under current Raiders offensive coordinator Luke Getsy during Getsy’s time in Chicago, making Whitehair familiar with the system.

Initially starting as a center, Whitehair transitioned to left guard over the last three seasons. Despite some decline in performance due to injuries, Whitehair was released by the Bears in February.

In 2023, Whitehair played multiple positions with varying success. While providing valuable experience at guard and center for the Raiders, he presents flexibility in the lineup and solid backup options in case of injuries.

Although Whitehair’s starting position is uncertain, his addition brings depth and experience to the Raiders’ offensive line. At a reasonable price of one year, max $3 million, Whitehair is a valuable asset for Las Vegas.
