The Detroit Lions are set to unveil their new uniforms on Thursday night, but the jerseys were accidentally leaked beforehand, giving us a look at what’s to come.
The leak came via an affiliate ad from Fanatics that was posted on USA TODAY’s Lions Wire. The article showed three different jerseys, one black, one blue, and one white.
The article has since been removed, and the Lions have now confirmed that the leak is real through a pair of videos, one featuring defensive lineman Alim McNeill and the other showing quarterback Jared Goff going through the new threads.
The tough thing about holding your new uniforms for an unveiling is keeping all the third-party corporate partners in line with the launch, when there’s so little oversight with those. I know black Lions jerseys haven’t always been a favorite of fans, but I can’t help but love the new ones. And, to be honest, the other two are excellent upgrades, also.
Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone was the first player from the team to react to the leak on social media, and he was none too happy about it. Check out his reaction and more below.
