The 2024 NFL Draft is fast approaching, with just over a week to go. Sporting News has recently released mock drafts spanning seven rounds, including a trade-heavy first-round edition. Let’s now shift our focus back to the projections for the first three rounds without factoring in any trades.

While some aspects of the draft picture have become clearer, there is still a lot of uncertainty about how the picks will unfold in Detroit from April 25-27.

Here’s an updated look at what teams could be considering from picks 1 through 100.

NFL Mock Draft 2024: Updated 3-round edition

Round 1

1. Chicago Bears (from Panthers)

  • Caleb Williams, QB, USC (6-1, 214 pounds)

The Bears have long been set on selecting Williams and solidified their choice by trading away Justin Fields just before Williams’ impressive pro day. Williams brings his exceptional talent and competitiveness to Chicago in a bid to solve the team’s ongoing QB issues.

2. Washington Commanders

  • Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU (6-4, 210 pounds)

The Commanders face a decision between Daniels and Drake Maye, assuming they don’t trade this pick. Daniels’ dynamic athleticism aligns well with Kliff Kingsbury’s offensive philosophy, making him a potential choice for Washington.

3. New England Patriots

  • Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina (6-4, 223 pounds)

The Patriots, despite having a significant need at QB, may be inclined to trade down from this pick under new coach Jerod Mayo and GM Eliot Wolf. If they stick with the selection, Maye could be a better fit for their offense than Daniels.
