The 2024 NFL Draft is just nine days away. Yes, you read that right. Single digits until the biggest weekend in the football calendar.

Hundreds of thousands of fans, analysts and personnel will descend upon Detroit to attend the NFL Draft where both players and teams fortunes will change forever. The first overall pick is a foregone conclusion but the real intrigue of the draft starts at second overall as there isn’t any consensus on what the Washington Commanders will do.

The way I crafted my positional is really simple. I only rank players that I have graded and then I ranked them based on my grading scale, which you can find here along with links to every one of my scouting reports.

Tyler Forness’ top 10 NFL Draft running backs

It’s viewed as a relatively subpar running back class without a true top guy. There is usually one player in the group who either goes or sniff’s round one. Unfortunately this year, that just doesn’t exist. The 2025 NFL Draft class could end up having up to seven guys that could realistically put themselves in position to be a first round pick.

That being said, there are a lot of good players at the position with multiple players having been mentioned as RB1 in this class. If you want a complementary piece in the backfield, there are a lot of options.

This year, I was able to watch 10 running backs and those are the only ones that I have in my rankings, as it’s disingenuine in my mind to rank players I didn’t watch. Without further ado, my top 10 running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft class.

1 Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright
2 Florida State’s Trey Benson
3 Texas’ Jonathon Brooks
4 Oregon’s Bucky Irving
5 New Hampshire’s Dylan Laube
6 Kentucky’s Ray Davis
7 USC’s MarShawn Lloyd
8 Louisville’s Isaac Guerendo
9 Michigan’s Blake Corum
10 Wisconsin’s Braelon Allen
